RE/MAX Raises Awareness on Shortage of Organ Transplants

It started locally with one RE/MAX colleague supporting another by donating his organ to his colleague.  When this touching story was told to RE/MAX they jumped at the opportunity to support National Organ Awareness Week, April 19-26, 2009, designated by the Canadian Association of Transplantation.  With the continued support of RE/MAX of Western Canada helping spread the word on the need for organ donors, the BC Transplant Organization performed a record 266 transplants in 2008.  Across the country 1803 transplants were performed last year, and there were 193 people that died waiting for a life saving transplant.  Registering your decision to become an organ donor can save up to eight lives and improve the quality of life for up to 80 others. I feel it is important to contribute locally to the community as we all can make a difference together.
